This is a review of the restaurant Bridges in Ubud, Bali. In all the meals eaten during our 27 days in SouthEast Asia, this has to rank as the best! This restaurant was recommended by a food critic who was covering the Bali Food Festival that we met at our hotel. It is located just outside of Ubud hanging over a picturesque gorge and river. The setting is very special and would be perfect for a romantic meal. Even with this said, I would not hesitate to take children to eat here. They had a full kids menu and we saw plenty of famililies enjoying the atmosphere. The staff treated both boys like honored guests.
The prices were high end for Bali, but very reasonable compared to a Western restaurant. The average price of a main course was about $15.00. Their menu included so many things that I had a difficult time choosing! Appetizers included seared Foie Gras and Carmelized Laksa Prawns. Follow it up with pan seared barramundi or Balinese spiced duck leg. And finish with apple tamarillo crumble. Everything was plated perfectly!
The kids enjoyed their choice of nuggets, buttered pasta, steak etc. My oldest son discovered a passion for strawberry lassi drinks.
This is my main course - twice cooked duck breast with fried jicama dumplings. It was amazing. I enjoyed it so much that we came back two days later to order it again!
Overall, our family enjoyed this restaurant so much. My only issue is that I am not sure when we are getting back to Bali so that we can revisit!!
